They're purely a result of sharpening, and they exist whether you use Lightroom, Irident or Photoshop sharpening or demosaicing. I've also done a ton of experimentation, and I disagree that the worms have anything to do with demosaicing. I'm going throught the same process and now turning everything off in x-transformer. I find Iridient's default setting oversharpen and are super "crunchy". I had been using “default settings”, whatever that entails, so apparently it is time to change settings. If someone can do better on different software, I'd very much like to see it.

The dpreview test shot from the X-T2 at ISO 12800. It really quite simple, not much extra work at all. Then I can finish editing and add sharpening and NR (different than what I would use in LR alone). NovemThe Iridient Developer 3. New RAW camera support includes: Olympus: E-M10 Mark IIIs.

This update fixes some bugs with the improved TIFF export functionality added in version 3.5, adds support for more new RAW cameras and other improvements.

In Lr, after I've gone through them, usually cropping and pre-editing as I go, I will select the keepers and just process those through X-Transformer, all the cropping and editing carry over into the DNGs. The Iridient Developer 3.5.1 update has been released. I always save the original RAFs (you never know what better processor might come along). The worms are not a product of LR sharpening, they are demosaiicing errors that are accentuated by sharpening.

If you use it correctly, it works just fine with properly demosaiiced files. In this tutorial you will learn how to install the Iridient X-Transformer plug-in directly into Adobe Lightroom, which will allow you to convert your. Do all your NR and sharpening in Lightroom, yes, I said Lightroom. I also let it handle the lens corrections, which is identical to LR. You want to just use for its superior demosaiicing algorithm. Set it for MORE DETAILED (actually doesn’t make much difference), Set the Iridient Sharpening and NR to NONE, it just changed with the last update, but it probably still sucks - it adds all sorts of ugly artifacts, particularly at high ISOs. REWIND: įor a while now, Iridient Developer has been a go to for some X-Photographers for its light familiar interface and its ability to extract detail from X-Trans files producing really impressive results in a way that you can’t easily achieve in Lightroom.I have done extensive experimentation with XT/Lightroom and have come to the same conclusions as some others who've been at this a while.

But as a Mac-only program Windows users were left to their own devices. For now though the examples shown here do appear to work for fine foliage detail (surely one the main problems that LR had) and where you see a problem in the concrete detail (the other main problem in LR) I see an even greater improvement and results that are not only equal to Iridient but superior. However, Iridient Digital is bringing its high-quality RAW processing algorithms to Windows with their X-Transformer. IRIDIENT X TRANSFORMER LIGHTROOM PLUGIN WINDOWS 0 Comments New option to automatically taper sharpening strength based on image ISO. The Iridient X-Transformer converts Fujifilm’s proprietary RAF image data to the open Adobe DNG image format. Interpolation or demosaic processing – This transforms the camera sensor information to produce a full-color RGB image. The key RAW processing stages that can be applied by Iridient X-Transformer during conversion to DNG include: Using the same demosaic processing algorithms found in Developer, users have control over how images will be rendered. This processing is always applied by Iridient X-Transformer and cannot be disabled or undone. There are two interpolation options, one for a more detailed rendering and a second smoother, lower artifact version. Sharpening – Iridient X-Transformer features advanced sharpening based on the very highly regarded “Iridient Reveal”.The algorithms are identical to the latest “detail+” and “smooth” options in Iridient Developer 3.1.3. IRIDIENT X TRANSFORMER LIGHTROOM PLUGIN WINDOWSĬolor and luminance noise reduction – The noise reduction processing in Iridient X-Transformer is specifically optimized for RAW image processing.Automatic lens corrections for distortion, chromatic aberration and vignetting – Corrections are based on native Fujifilm lens information specified in their RAF metadata.Sharpening is optional and can be adjusted (low/med/high) or disabled.
